Why Use Cold Water When Brewing Coffee?
Sunday, January 31st, 2010As a coffee addict, I also review some coffee related blogs.
One particular blog I read is www.weeklyroast.com, which is run by the CEO of a start-up coffee roasting company.
This specific post explains the importance of using COLD water to make your coffee… as in, START with cold water (if you’re using tap water) to begin the brew process.
If you’ve ever wondered why cold water is important, have a look…

Debra Medina wins BELO debate hands down
Saturday, January 30th, 2010Went out with the family tonight for Susan’s birthday (which was yesterday, but Frick had a school concert). Set the DVR before we left because the GOP TX Governor debate was on (produced by BELO).
Came home and watched it after the girlies went to bed. As with the last debate, Debra Medina kicked some serious political butt.
You can read about it, and even watch it, here…

Hope and Change I can believe in…
Thursday, September 10th, 2009And not the kind Obama sold to millions of disgruntled Americans looking for ANYTHING different than the Bush legacy…
I’m talking about one of my journalistic heroes of all time, John Stossel, FINALLY leaving ABC for Fox News/Business.
John was too good for the lackeys at the Associated Broadcasters of Communism, and I figured it was just a matter of time before he moved on to Fox. He’s a better fit there due to his libertarian leanings (not that Fox is all things wonderful, they have their own issues and line up a little too tightly with the republican party line for my taste sometimes).
When I watch John’s segments (pretty much the only segments from ABC news I watch), I find myself nodding my head and agreeing with him way too often… and sometimes, I yell “amen” at the screen – I do, ask my fiance’, seriously. I’m glad to see him finding a comfortable home to share his pieces, and hopefully Fox will give John a whole lot more freedom to give real information than ABC gave him.
Here’s the article…
